That the divine romance I embarked on has led me out of a monochrome existence and into freedom. That you see the real me, and every time I’ve called myself unlovable, dirty, ashamed, you turn around and call me the opposite. Thank you that the promise of new life starts now – that dying to myself was the best decision I ever made because in its place was Life with a capital L, the presence and friendship of the God who died for me, and the fullness of being who I was made to be. Every day you are exchanging my dreams for yours, and showing me that yours are better anyways. You have placed in me a joy that laughs at the uphill climbs of this world, and a hope that glows in the dark. So Jesus, I thank you and I love you for showing me who I am, convincing me that You love who that person is, and at the end of it all, asking me just to be me.
this is honestly inspired by lana’s awesome bday picture of isaac (which you should all look at because it’s so happy), but this one is less cheery and really accentuates isaac’s forehead and facial hair.
nevertheless, happy birthday isa. you are my big brother. i love you. i’m glad i’ve gotten to celebrate your birthday with you in-person one last time before you leave :)
